Privacy Notice

DriveFly is operated by AFRO INTELLIGENT, a South African private company (registration 2025/025095/07). DriveFly provides management software to South African driving schools. AFRO INTELLIGENT is responsible for platform account, billing, support, security and website-usage information. A participating driving school is generally responsible for student, instructor, booking, training and lesson information it enters into its workspace. Contact us at privacy@drivefly.co.za, hello@drivefly.co.za, +27 67 608 7645, or 4 Riebeek St, Vasco Estate, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7460, South Africa.

Information we process

We process names, contact details, account credentials, school details, booking and training records, payment references and receipts, support messages, uploaded documents, security logs, and—only when an instructor starts tracking—current lesson location. PayFast processes card or banking credentials; DriveFly does not store those credentials.

Purposes and justification

We use information to provide accounts and contracted services, administer bookings and payments, secure the platform, support users, comply with law, and pursue legitimate operational interests that do not override data-subject rights. We request consent where consent is the appropriate basis, including optional precise location sharing. We do not sell personal information.

Sharing and operators

Information may be processed by the relevant driving school and by contracted hosting, database, email, messaging, analytics, image-storage and payment providers. These may include Vercel, MongoDB Atlas, Pusher, Cloudinary, an SMTP provider and PayFast. Some processing may occur outside South Africa; DriveFly requires appropriate contractual and security safeguards for those transfers.

Retention

Active account and operational records are retained while needed to provide the service and meet legal duties. Live coordinates are removed when tracking stops and tracking records expire automatically. Financial records may be retained for statutory recordkeeping. Other data is deleted or de-identified when no longer reasonably required, subject to legal holds and legitimate recordkeeping duties.

Your rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or request deletion where the law permits. Contact the school responsible for your learner or employment record, email DriveFly for platform records, or use the signed-in request form. We may verify your identity before acting.

Security and complaints

We use access controls, encrypted transport, password hashing, tenant separation and other safeguards. No online service is risk-free. Report suspected incidents immediately to the privacy email. You may complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za or via inforegulator.org.za.

Children

The service is not intended for a child to register independently. A school must obtain verifiable authorisation from a competent person before entering personal information about a child, unless another lawful exception applies.
